Recap: 2009 AT&T National

July 5, 2009 by Current Golf Leave a reply »

Tiger Woods is indeed a greedy host. Luckily, this week, that’s a great thing to be.

With a 3 under 67, Tiger Woods held off a charging Hunter Mahan to win the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club (site of the 2011 U.S. Open) by one shot.

Hunter Mahan tied the course record with a 62 on Sunday to push the leaders to put together a good round in order to win.

Tournament notes: This was Anthony Kim’s first time being paired with Tiger, finishing in third place with a one over par 71 on Sunday. Tiger Woods was the tournament host for the week. He has promised to donate his entire tournament winnings to charity. Also of note, all military personnel were allowed entrance to the tournament free of charge.
